Lahore Revamping Program on Track with GIS Mapping Completion this Week

Good news for Lahore! The city’s revamping program, initiated by the Chief Minister of Punjab, is on schedule. As of May 3rd, GIS mapping for the program is nearing completion and is expected to be finalized by this Friday.

This positive update comes from a recent briefing session led by the newly appointed Commissioner Lahore, Zaid Bin Maqsood. Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Rafia Haider, presented details on various ongoing initiatives, including the anti-polio drive, dengue prevention measures, and efforts to tackle air pollution (smog).

Commissioner Maqsood expressed confidence that the program will meet its deadlines thanks to the effective use of GIS mapping and dashboard tools. These tools provide a clear picture of Lahore’s infrastructure across its five tehsils, which include 25 revenue circles and 251 patwar circles.

The briefing also highlighted the progress in digitizing land record management. Five out of Lahore’s nine registrar offices have transitioned into e-registry centers, processing over 14,000 registrations since the beginning of 2024.
